Lesson Program for the Springfield Polo Club
Riding for Polo Lessons
$80 per lesson
In these lessons we train students with no riding experience (or those who have riding experience in a different discipline) the correct way to sit, steer, and cue the horse for polo in a walk, trot, and canter, focusing on building strength and stability.
Polo Lessons
$80 per lesson
Our polo lessons teach students how to hold the mallet, connect with the ball, and the different types of swings. We start on the ground with short mallets, or on “Woodie” our wooden practice horse, then try out our swings on a moving horse!
Tacking for Polo
$100 for a 3 session course
For our advanced students we offer classes on how to saddle and bridle your horse safely and effectively
Student Chukkers
$80 per chukker
On Saturday mornings we offer practice games for our advanced students to participate in. Here you will learn the rules of the game, team strategy, and get a taste of what a real polo match feels like
Intro to Polo Clinic
$150
A few times a year we offer a half day polo clinic for those who want to get a quick snapshot of polo to give it a try. We go over the basics of the game rules, different types of swings, and then we end with a practice chukker at the walk and/or trot.
